Cons
- May take a few days or even a week or 2 to get all the parts you need.
- You will need more than 1 system or a much larger system to save 80% of your fuel bills. A 40-60% is more likely (which is still pretty darn good in any language!).
- You'll be hooked on the whole green/renewable energy concept and want to create lots more generators!
My Results
My costs to assemble the solar generator and panels came to just over $350 but I’ve since found items cheaper on eBay. The windmill or wind turbine was much less at around the $220 mark.
First off, the windmill and the solar panels worked - which is always a bonus! It took a few weeks to finally have everything up and running. Trust me, you ain't gunna do this in a day or 2!
I also employed the help of a friend to help me with some of the more trickier parts of the system. Mind you, he was that impressed with the outcome he’s built his own systems now!
The biggest joy however is seeing the size of my electricity bill cut by over 60%!!
